Corporation officials slap fine on people without face masks at city's Oppanakara Street

Coimbatore: City Corporation officials imposed fines on those who were found without facemasks in the city during their inspections on roads in the city.

Based on the instructions of Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation (CCMC) Commissioner, Raja Gopal Sunkara, Corporation officials inspected Oppanakara Street, at Town Hall in Coimbatore on Wednesday. The officials imposed penalties on all those who did not wear face masks in public spaces and failed to observe necessary Covid-19 prevention guidelines.

In the wake of the new variant’s outbreak, the District administration is implementing several prevention measures to curb the spread of the new potent variant Omicron in Coimbatore. The Corporation officials imposed fines on people who did not wear face masks and constantly directed the public on the roads to strictly follow Covid-19 guidelines issued by the State Government.
